Hanergy Releases Mobile Energy Solution: “Mobile Energy+”
BEIJING – On April 13, 2015, Hanergy Thin Film Power Group (00566. HK) held a mobile energy solution & strategy cooperation news conference, officially rolling out its mobile energy system solution and announcing its strategy cooperation with select vehicle manufacturers.

Hanergy will carry out green upgrades of the traditional car manufacturing industry with its world-leading thin-film energy application technology and it will offer car manufacturers a complete vehicle clean electricity system solution combining electrical design, system integration, energy storage, intelligent control and accurate power transmission.

Hanergy's mobile energy solution is a model of innovative cooperation dubbed “mobile energy + traditional industries.” The deep integration between mobile energy and traditional industries is being accelerated and the cooperation mode “mobile energy+” has stimulated huge market demand as well as a wholly new business model and innovative momentum. Hanergy Holding Group and Hanergy Thin Film Power Group Chairman Li Hejun delivered a keynote speech at the news conference. At the news conference, Hanergy presented mobile energy solutions customized for mobile dining cars, RV’s and sightseeing cars. With thin-film solar’s advantages of flexibility, light weight, high energy conversion efficiency, and superior low-light performance, this solution integrates thin-film solar modules into a car roof and/or body and thus makes the car itself an independent green power generator. It will use the sun to charge cars’ storage batteries and combine information with energy to realize information’s dominant role in precise power transmission, fulfilling cars’ various electricity demands. Meanwhile, it will greatly enhance driving comfort and improve a vehicle’s environmental-friendly index by reducing emissions.

At the news conference, Hanergy announced its strategic cooperation with Tai’an Chang’an Dining Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Chang’an), a professional mobile kitchen manufacturer based in Shandong Province. With Hanergy’s mobile energy application technology, the two sides are producing the world’s first electric dining car fully powered by solar energy. The mobile dining car is integrated with thin-film solar power modules with a daily power output of 6 kWh in normal sunlight. This can meet the entire electricity needs of various electrical appliances in the dining car, such as the refrigerator, soymilk machine, frying pan, and steamer and sustain daily operations with zero emissions. In addition, using solar power modules allows most of the appliances in the dining car to use direct current, reducing energy consumption to the utmost. It is an innovative application in China’s dining facility and vehicle industries.

Chang’an President Wang Jingdong said there would be huge market potential for solar-powered dining cars and Chang’an expects to carry out long-term cooperation with Hanergy with an estimated annual purchase amount of 25MW of thin-film panels. Hanergy will provide Chang’an with supporting installation and maintenance services, and develop other solar application projects related to dining cars with Chang’an. Chang’an’s dining cars have been sold to China’s major cities and exported to over 30 countries, including the US, Australia, France, Italy and South Africa.

Hanergy also cooperated with Suzhou Eagle, China’s well-known electric sightseeing car manufacturer, to develop fully solar-powered sightseeing cars. Hanergy’s flexible thin-film solar power modules, installed on the car’s roof, can supply about 2 kWh of green power for a car’s storage battery, fulfilling power needs of 20 kilometers per day with no need for extra charging. At the news conference, there was also an exhibition of solar-powered RV’s. In normal sunlight, Hanergy’s flexible thin-film solar panels can provide the vehicle’s storage battery with 2.65kWh of electricity, which can keep the battery fully charged and fulfill power needs from devices such as LCD TVs, refrigerators and car audio. With the thin-film panels providing a steady current of electricity to charge the battery, the need for frequently igniting the engine to use the battery is reduced and as a consequence, noise and energy consumption are decreased while living comfort and environmental-friendliness are greatly improved. With the instrument sets, one can also monitor the power generation situation, battery status and electricity at any time.

The cross-field cooperation of Hanergy’s “mobile energy+” solution is long-established in the vehicle and vehicle-related industries. In 2014, the world-famous luxury racing car brand Aston Martin signed a partnership agreement with Hanergy to integrate its highly efficient flexible solar power chips into Aston Martin racing cars to improve the cars’ performance and help them excel in the World Endurance Championship. Last April, Hanergy made a customized thin-film solar power charging system for Tesla Motors; later Hanergy provided clean energy for FIA Formula E Championship as the competition’s solar energy partner and rolled out its fast-deployment thin-film solar power charging system to the market. In addition, Hanergy is also cooperating with six top car design corporations from home and abroad to develop fully solar-powered cars, with model cars expected to be released at the end of this year.

As China’s car ownership rate surges, the fuel used by vehicles has become one of the main points of energy consumption. Automobile oil consumption accounts for over 30% of the country’s total oil consumption and vehicle emissions have become a major source for large and middle-sized cities’ air pollution. The application of the “mobile energy+” solution in the car industry will not only provide green energy for travelling but will also effectively help reduce emissions and bring considerable environmental benefits.

Report: Interest in EVs and Hybrids Shows Little Change Since 2013

Electric vehicles–encompassing the gamut of products from traditional hybrids, plug-in hybrids and pure electric vehicles –have seen some impressive benchmarks come and go in recent years; 2013 and 2014 each saw sales for this segment exceeding the half-million mark, and 2015 is on track for a repeat.
As of the end of July, nearly 290,000 vehicles with a battery generating at least some of their momentum have been sold in the United States, including nearly 120,000 plug-in models (whether pure electrics or plug-in hybrids).
But while that is a large number of vehicles, 2015 sales numbers to date still represent the same 3% of total U.S. vehicle sales seen in 2012, before some major players joined the charge.
Just under half of American car owners (or anticipated owners) say they would consider a traditional hybrid the next time they are in the market for a new vehicle (48%, identical to 2013 findings); they had lower consideration levels for plug-in vehicles, whether they be hybrids (29%, up two percentage points) or pure electrics (21%, also up two points). An additional two in 10 would consider a diesel (19%, up three points), while 35% would consider a smaller or gas-powered vehicle to save on operating costs (down three points).
These are among the findings from a Harris Poll of 2,225 U.S. adults (aged 18 and older) surveyed online from May 20-26, 2015.
Most of these vehicles appeal more to some groups than to others:
– Millennial drivers are more likely than their elder counterparts to consider a traditional hybrid, with 57% saying they would consider one (vs. 49% of generation Xers, 43% of baby boomers and 38% of matures). This same trend holds true for plug-in hybrids (39% vs. 28%, 22% and 23%) and pure electrics (34% vs. 17%, 14% and 11%), as well as for diesel vehicles (27% vs. 16%, 17% and 9%).
– Men are more likely than women to consider an electric vehicle (25% men, 17% women) and more than twice as likely to indicate that they would consider a diesel (28% men, 11% women).
– Distance drivers–those who travel more than 50 miles in an average day–are especially likely to say they’d consider a plug-in hybrid (38%, vs. 28% of those traveling 30 miles or less in a typical day), a pure electric (32% vs. 18%) or a diesel (28% vs. 17%).
– Democrats and Independents are more likely than Republicans to consider a traditional hybrid (53% Democrats, 52% Independents and 42% Republicans), a plug-in hybrid (34%, 32% and 20%) or a pure electric (26%, 25% and 10%).
When asked to select their top concerns related to pure EVs, price (67%) and range (64%) rise to the top, followed by repair/maintenance costs (58%), reliability (53%), performance/power (50%) and the fact that it’s still new technology (42%).
– Price (73% matures, 71% baby boomers, 63% each generation Xers and millennials) and range (75%, 75%, 58% and 52%) are especially strong concerns among older Americans.
American drivers’ top concern when considering a new vehicle–reliability, which 93% rate “very important”–is not among the top barriers standing in the way of EV adoption.
In addition to being the top barrier to EV adoption, purchase cost is the second most important consideration when looking at a new vehicle (with 81% considering it very important). Right now hybrids and EVs still come at a premium when shopped against otherwise comparable vehicles, but those comparative costs are slowly going down. Time will tell whether this might lead to stronger sales.
Methodology
This Harris Poll was conducted online, in English, within the United States between May 20 and 26, 2015 among 2,225 adults (aged 18 and over). Figures for age, sex, race/ethnicity, education, region and household income were weighted where necessary to bring them into line with their actual proportions in the population. Propensity score weighting was also used to adjust for respondents’ propensity to be online.
All sample surveys and polls, whether or not they use probability sampling, are subject to multiple sources of error which are most often not possible to quantify or estimate, including sampling error, coverage error, error associated with nonresponse, error associated with question wording and response options, and post-survey weighting and adjustments. Therefore, The Harris Poll avoids the words “margin of error” as they are misleading. All that can be calculated are different possible sampling errors with different probabilities for pure, unweighted, random samples with 100% response rates. These are only theoretical because no published polls come close to this ideal.
Respondents for this survey were selected from among those who have agreed to participate in Harris Poll surveys. The data have been weighted to reflect the composition of the adult population. Because the sample is based on those who agreed to participate in our panel, no estimates of theoretical sampling error can be calculated.

On 9th Aug, the large-scale electric sanitation vehicles debut and drove to Chang'an Avenue and Second and Third Ring Road as the trial operation. The roads were spotless after sweeping and cleaning. And the work cost is 2/3 less than the traditional diesel anitation vehicles.

From the "Beijing 2013-2017 Air-Cleaning Action Plan", the percent of electric sanitation vehicles will arrive more 50% in the whole Beijing and more than 70% in the 6 urban areas. On 9th Aug, the wolrd's first pure electric sanitation vehicle debut at Tiananmen Squre in Beijing. Different from the traditional sanitaion vehicles, the appreance color of new electric sanitation vehicle is luxury gold color, and scale is much larger.

Beijing Environmental Sanitation Group takes the environment and sanitation security job for the 70th anniversary of the victory parade on 3rd, Sep. The 22 new-introduced electric sanitation vehicles will sweep and clean Chang'an Avenue and full meet the standard of spotlessness.

One Charger from Beijing Environmental Sanitation Group told, one hour before the 60th anniversary in 2009, 20 sanitation vehicles drove in a oblique row through Chang'an Avenue. After cleaning, there is no any black when touching the road and smear onto the white shirt. Now the effect is much better due to the new pure electric sanitation vehicles, the dust is reduced less than 2 grams per squre meter. While the dust is 8 grams by the traditional sanitation vehicle. There should be only 3 grams per squre meter for the important activities.

Moreover, this sanitation vehicle is with the advantages of zero emmision, zero pollution, low noise, low thermal radiation, and solves the problem of short range per charge of previous pure electric vehicle. It can reach range of 360km and work for 7 hours per full charge.

The new pure electric sanitation vehicle is of high-pressure cleaning and sweeping, suitable for road sweeping and high-pressure cleaning of wide and flat city road, squre, airport, dock. This vehicle can equal to the workload of 20 workers save more than 80% human workload.

In future, the new pure electric vehicle will be promoted to Hebei and Tianjin.

How to choose one electric mobility scooter for elerly

The user communities of mobility scooter are much different, it is first important  at the safety design aspect. Then, how to choose one mobility scooter? Here is some advice from Marshell engineers Group.

First, speed.

The speed should be slow. The international standard speed is 8 km/h for the old electric vehicle, considerring the healthy condition of old people. Generally, the electric mobility scooter with 20~50 km/h speed is not one standard mobility scooter for elderly. The speed can be learned from manufacturer, or, directly from the scooter dashboard. One vehicle with 8 km/h speed may be installed 12km/h dashboard, but there is no possible with one 60 or 70 km/h speed dashboard.

Second, driving distance.

The 36V/12Ah battery have the capacity for a range of 50km, and normally it's better that the longest driving distance is around 35 km, still depending on the driving road condition. You should consider to charge twice at different time or not choose mobility scooter if the driving distance more than 50km.

Third, brand.

There are many brands of electric mobility scooter. Consumers should choose a long-run, low repair rate, high quality and creditworthy brand. Choose the brand with ISO9001-2000 certificate, with official webiste. At least they can prove classy company strength, long-running time.

Fourth, frame design.

The center of gravity should be low and steady, which can be learned from the pedal height. If the ground clearance is high, the center of gravity is high and it's not safe when driving. The distance of the left and right wheel should be wide. Under the condition of same vehicle width, wheel distance is larger, the ground adhesion is higher, much easier when turning round, then it will be much safer. If the vehicle can turn over, it's not up to the motor, but the barycenter design, wheel distance and speed. The vehicle will turn over easily when turing round if the center gravity is high, narrow wheel distance and high speed.

Fifth, operating system.

The mobility scooter is different from other vehicles, it should be easily operated because the elderly drive. As the transportation tool, it's enough for elderly to go forward, backward and brake. One is it's easily operated and safe, and the other is the failure rate is low, no reparing trouble.

Sixth, scooter type.

The mobility scooter can be divided to luxury type, general type, front and back shock-avoiding type, light type. The luxury type scooter has full functions but expensive, general type is simple and doule seat mobiltiy scootereconomy. While the light type  is flexible but with short distance. Consumer should take this into consideration when buying.


Last, after-sales service. 
 
One should know about the after-sales service when buy a vehicle. The mobility scooter is different, had better to choose the manufacturer which offer door-to-door service within the warranty item. If not, the elderly can't take the scooter to repair station if something happens to it.

The factors of electric vehicles batteries short lifetime

Electric vehicle is not only environment friendly and save energy money, no need the driver's license, have been gradually recognized by the majority car lovers. While, battery life is a serious problem has plagued everyone.

Battery life is generally 1~2 years, good maintenance is of good to prolong the life, of course, short battery life comes from poor maintenance. Then, what are the factors to impact the electric vehicles batteries life? Marshell gives you detailed answers.

First, insufficient charging.

Some young people don't pay attention to the maintenance of electric vehicles batteries. They charge when they don't drive while unplug the charger when driving, and don't care if the battery is full. It seems convenient but does much harm to the battery.

If the battery is not charged fully for many times, the chemical reaction is insufficient, leading to reduced capacitance, naturally driving distance will reduce as time going.

Second, too heavy load.

A light weight person riding the electric vehicle than the heavy weight one consumes power much lower. Thus, the light weight driver charges fewer times than the weight one. The battery will be damaged after charged too many times, so please don't load more than the vehicles' limit.

Third, over-discharge.

It may be right for other batteries to over-discharge then charge, but not OK for electric vehicles batteries. If the electric vehicles batteries is over-discharge, it will damage the battery activity if over-discharged, result in chemical reactive problem, and then reduce the electric capacitance.

Fourth, use old and new batteries at the same time.

Some family uses the combination of the battery, the result is some batteries are used out while some are not, then the new batteries are damaged and also there may be safety problem.

Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a bridge linking Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau, the world's longest cross-sea bridge. The bridge has important strategic significance in promoting further economic development on the Hong Kong, Macau and the West Bank of Pearl River Delta. Bridge's total length is 49.968 kilometers, expected to be completed next year. After the the bridge's completion, it will take only half an hour, instead 3 hours before, to drive from Hong Kong to Zhuhai. the bridge inspection vehicles are certainly crucial for such an important project.
