This can meet the entire electricity needs of various electrical appliances in the dining car, such as the refrigerator, soymilk machine, frying pan, and steamer and sustain daily operations with zero emissions. In addition, using solar power modules allows most of the appliances in the dining car to use direct current, reducing energy consumption to the utmost. It is an innovative application in China’s dining facility and vehicle industries.

Chang’an President Wang Jingdong said there would be huge market potential for solar-powered dining cars and Chang’an expects to carry out long-term cooperation with Hanergy with an estimated annual purchase amount of 25MW of thin-film panels. Hanergy will provide Chang’an with supporting installation and maintenance services, and develop other solar application projects related to dining cars with Chang’an. Chang’an’s dining cars have been sold to China’s major cities and exported to over 30 countries, including the US, Australia, France, Italy and South Africa.

Hanergy also cooperated with Suzhou Eagle, China’s well-known electric sightseeing car manufacturer, to develop fully solar-powered sightseeing cars. Hanergy’s flexible thin-film solar power modules, installed on the car’s roof, can supply about 2 kWh of green power for a car’s storage battery, fulfilling power needs of 20 kilometers per day with no need for extra charging. At the news conference, there was also an exhibition of solar-powered RV’s. In normal sunlight, Hanergy’s flexible thin-film solar panels can provide the vehicle’s storage battery with 2.65kWh of electricity, which can keep the battery fully charged and fulfill power needs from devices such as LCD TVs, refrigerators and car audio. With the thin-film panels providing a steady current of electricity to charge the battery, the need for frequently igniting the engine to use the battery is reduced and as a consequence, noise and energy consumption are decreased while living comfort and environmental-friendliness are greatly improved. With the instrument sets, one can also monitor the power generation situation, battery status and electricity at any time.

The cross-field cooperation of Hanergy’s “mobile energy+” solution is long-established in the vehicle and vehicle-related industries. Tip 1, be sure to unplug the key before charging, to turn off the electric vehicle’s power supply.

Tip 2, please do open all the battery caps when charging, maintain indoor’s good ventilation, open flame is prohibited to prevent explosion! (Charging process produces hydrogen).

Tip 3,  the battery each time before charging and make sure the fluid level should maintain 5~10 mm above the grill plate.


Tip 4,the surface of the batteries should keep clean and dry, connecting cable contact firmly (contact no rust and smear Vaseline), and check the contact weekly.

Tip 5, if the batteries are abnormal, such as mileage decreased significantly, placing no significant self-discharge, you should test the batteries and take measures if necessary.

Tip 6, if some battery cells have turbid solution or the solution level is low, you should test the batteries, and take measures if necessary.

Tip 7, generally 1 or 2 batteries failed first, you should take measures, or they will affect other good batteries.

Tip 8, not use water to clean the electric controller or fuse holder, you can use a brush or high-pressure gas dust remover instead.

Tip 9, inject the distilled water special for battery (International standard 20L plastic barreled distilled water) if the solution is not enough. It will damage the batteries if you inject the tap water or small bottle solution etc unqualified liquid.

Tip 10, use a clean plastic cup or cups and other non-metallic utensils when injecting water. Prevent any contaminants from entering the battery. If the impurities fall into the battery, use clean wood stick not metal things to get the impurities.

Tip 11, charge enough and no stop during the charging process.

Tip 12, charge once you drive more than 15km during the day.

Tip 13, avoid storing with power unenough. Battery must be fully charged before idleness, charge every 15 ~ 20 days during the idleness.

Tip 14, charging order: Connect charger to vehicle body, connect 220V power supply, open the charger switch (inverse operation after full charge).

Tip 15, the connection cable with the charger should be more than 3 square millimeter and power supply connecting the chargers should reach 16A like qualified cabinet models air-conditioning socket. The socket should only connect the charger and no other chargers. The cable between charger and battery can be longer randomly.


Tip 16, Someone have duty to take care within one hour when starting charging, the charging cable is not qualified and stop charging if cable is hot and soft.

Tip 17, do not attempt to repair the electrical parts if you are a non-professional and do not disassemble the batteries. Unplug the negative pole and then positive when uninstalling the batteries from the Vehicle, and plug the positive pole and then negative when installing. The cable connection can touch the vehicle body once uninstalled to avoid explosion.

Tip 18, it’s normal if the max mileage is short in winter; The battery may be frozen to crack if it is not full charged in winter.

Electric VS Gas Powered Golf Carts

New customers always have the question, “What’s better, gas or electric?” My answer is always the same – it largely depends on how you plan to use your golf car and what your preferences are. Electric golf carts run nearly silently and have no fuels or oils to deal with, perfect for supporters of the green movement. Gas golf carts are a little more on the noisy side and will obviously require gas to operate – regular unleaded, to be exact.

Electric golf carts do depend on their batteries for power, so if you’re someone who wants to use your golf cart for hours upon hours at a time, you may want to stick with gas. This especially holds true for those that enjoy camping and RVing – if you don’t have access to power neither will your electric golf cart.

Another point that’s often forgotten is the amount of accessories you plan to install on your golf cart. If you want stereos, lighting, fans, heaters, etc. all of this takes a considerable amount of power. For an electric cart this energy comes right out of the same bank of batteries that your motor relies on. Gas golf cart accessories will also rely on battery power, however, they feature a starter/generator that will charge the battery on its own while the gas pedal is depressed. This doesn't mean a gas golf cart battery is invincible – any accessories left on while the cart isn't running will eventually kill your battery.

Performance

In the beginning, golf carts were designed to simply be what their name implies – cars for golfing. While either type of cart can easily haul you and a friend around most reasonable kinds of terrain there are other points to consider when making a decision – especially for those who expect (or demand) a little more.

With horsepower ratings ranging from 10-12 HP, gas golf cars are as much as 3-4 times more powerful than their electric counterparts. An electric golf cart, on average, will feature a 3-5 HP electric motor – but that’s not to say electric carts aren't impressively powerful in their own right. Light hauling and yard work can be done with either type of vehicle and both will perform satisfactorily. However, those who demand power in off-road conditions with rugged terrain and steep inclines will almost always want to stick with gas power.

As we mentioned before, electric golf carts aren't for those who wish to joy ride for hours a day. An electric cart will typically get around two hours of continuous motor run time before the batteries will need re-charging. This translates to anywhere between 18-25 miles depending on usage and the terrain – still pretty impressive. On the gas side of things manufacturers have made great strides in improving gas efficiency and the Yamaha Drive currently leads the pack in fuel economy by averaging nearly 29 MPG.

Aside from power sources and horsepower ratings, both types of vehicles operate in much the same fashion. To the untrained eye you couldn't tell the two apart from each other and for the most part they both ride and handle the same. Both types of vehicles will get about 14-15 mph top-speed (unmodified).

Maintenance

All in all, both types of golf carts have fairly light requirements when it comes to maintenance. With electric carts your main concern lies within your batteries – make sure you check the water levels monthly (at least) and top-off as needed. The batteries are the life-blood of an electric car and with a replacement set costing well over $600 these days it’s not something you want to ignore. With proper maintenance of batteries and responsible charging habits you can expect to get 5-6 years (sometimes longer) of solid performance before they will need replacing. In comparison, neglecting your batteries can shorten their lifespan to as little as 1-2 years.
